Apologies:

  • Name

OCIO Config Working Group Meeting Notes

  • Canon IDTs:
    • Discussed Canon's reply
    • Plan is to add Canon Log 2 as a built-in transform, and reply to Canon with how to add it to a config via the generator
  • Combine Linear Rec709 and Linear sRGB to one colorspace
    • Feedback on the github issue is to combine, so will proceed that way
    • We need to rename the colorspace in the spreadsheet and also the CLF file
  • Finishing Categories
    • Currently, the categories contain some vendor names  - was that intentional?
    • We can look at the file history maybe to figure out where they come from - Doug will reach out to Michael
    • If all in agreement, we should remove the vendor names from the categories
  • Finalize role assignments
    • Would like to remove default roles for color_picking, matte_paint, texture_paint, default etc, so:
      • Check with Mark to make sure it won't break Nuke, know they were working on this - Carol will reach out
      • Make sure warnings in ociocheck are updated
      • Easy to remove from the config when decided
    • Default file rule will remain ACES 2065-1 for the ACES based configs
    • Decided not to add an sRGB encoding role
  • Aliases - in pretty good shape now!
    • Curve responses may differ from 1.2 config, should the aliases be used?
    • Gut is to leave them, and explain the differences in future documentation and user guides - Carol will call it out when notes are shared in slack
  • Add un-tonemapped to the active views
  • Zach brought up that we sometimes use video-sdr instead of sdr-video in documentation, he will submit a PR to update docs
  • RC2 : after meeting on Tuesday Oct 18
  • Name attribute - filename of the clf vs the name attribute vs the clf URN to generate the colorspace name
    • Zach will create a spreadsheet comparing the URN value to the Name so we can see
    • Then we can decide whether we want to update the current naming code
    • Thomas will look at what the updates would take this weekend
